These days everyone is talking about how they can incorporate S.T.E.A.M. into their child’s learning. But what does S.T.E.A.M. stand for and why is it so important? It is an acronym that stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. These five disciplines are crucial to our education as they make up the majority of our day to day activities, including a large portion of our current jobs available in the workforce.
Involve LEGO® in your learning to solidify concepts and apply real world scenarios in a fun, hands-on way by signing up for one of our S.T.E.A.M. courses. Allow your children’s imagination to run wild as they develop skills in creativity, problem solving, and analytics all while playing with their favorite toys! Exciting, huh? They can learn all those skills and more by joining us in a variety of S.T.E.A.M. courses and activities!
Each module comes with a “Starter Kit LEGO® package” and these courses give participants the option to choose activities in alignment with their age level and preference of difficulty. Check out our offerings below!
Our Courses
Science
Welcome to the world of natural phenomena! In this Science Module, we explore the forces and structures shaping our planet. Using LEGO® blocks, we'll examine ecosystems, volcanic eruptions, tornadoes, and hurricanes. Each lesson immerses you in the complexities and wonders of Earth's dynamic processes.
Technology
Technology is the result of human innovation and scientific purposes, creating new products to meet needs with creativity. Throughout history, solutions like irrigation ditches and the telephone have addressed problems, making life easier. At the end of this module, you will create a structure for your own LEGO® world.
Engineering
Have you ever wondered how the pyramids of Egypt were built? Moving and placing massive stones without modern technology like electricity or cranes seems impossible. The ancient Egyptians used simple machines, basic engineering techniques still used today. In this engineering module, we will focus on Simple Machines & Physical Laws. You will use this knowledge to create a park for your LEGO® world.
Art
Welcome to the Art Module series, where young artists explore creativity with LEGO® bricks! Children will learn key art concepts and techniques, sparking imagination and fostering a love for creating. Each lesson ends with a hands-on LEGO building activity to apply their new skills and unleash their creativity.
Math
Welcome to the Math Module series, where numbers come to life with LEGO® bricks! Students will explore perimeter, area, volume, and their relationships interactively. They'll build, calculate, and unleash their inner mathematician. At the end, students will create structures for their minifigs to explore and inhabit.
Stop Motion
Stop motion is an animation technique where objects are physically manipulated in small increments between photographed frames to create the illusion of movement. Commonly used objects include puppets with movable joints (puppet animation) or plasticine figures (claymation). Models or clay figures built around an armature are used in model animation. Stop motion with live actors is called pixilation, and with flat materials like paper or fabrics, it's called cutout animation.
